MART . . .

Providing leadership to rural telcos and rural Minnesota.  It supports, fosters and promotes the interests of rural telecommunications providers in Minnesota by:

Representing rural telecommunications providers and their customers before the Minnesota Legislature, Minnesota Regulators, other agencies at the state level, Congress, Federal agencies, and national organizations.

Promoting rural economic development through advocating public policies that encourage advanced telecommunications investments.

Fostering the image of rural telecommunications providers in Minnesota as leaders in providing their customers with advanced telecommunications services through state-of-the-art technologies.

Positioning rural telecommunications providers in Minnesota so their customers can take full advantage of the competitive telecommunications market-place.

Providing educational opportunities for rural telecommunications providers in Minnesota to keep them current on important issues and technologies.

Working with individual companies, organizations, and institutions to promote Minnesota.

MART's Activities . . .

Informative Annual and Manager meetings with keynote speakers such as an FCC Commissioner, US Senator, and Congressmen, Governor and other key policy makers.

Maintain critical contacts with key decision-makers in the State and Federal Government, education, and the public policy forums.

Events specifically designed to provide opportunities for informal industry networking.

Training on lobbying and public policy issues.

Organize lobbying days in St. Paul and Washington to inform Legislators on issues important to our members and rural communities.

Centralized source of information on industry issues and events for member companies.

Website (www.mnart.org) providing rural telcos with information on important issues and establishing communications links with the Internet world.

Active committees that provide information and support for member companies' personnel.
